EVM Row: Former Congress Overseas President Sam Pitroda, who made controversial statements like inheritance tax during the Lok Sabha elections, has now raised questions on the credibility of EVMs. Sam Pitroda posted on X on Monday (17 June) and wrote that EVMs can be tampered with, so it is better to conduct elections through paper ballot system. He said that the best system is to decide victory and defeat by counting the ballots.
In fact, Sam Pitroda wrote on X, ‘I have worked in sectors like electronics, telecom, IT, software for more than 60 years. During this time I have studied the entire system of EVMs and I believe that it is possible to tamper with them. In such a situation, the best way is that elections should be held with ballot papers only and victory and defeat should be decided by counting them.
